  11. In the (Unofficial) Bug list, there is this to say :-

  13.     Problem:    As distributed, you cannot make a kernel
  14.             because the Makefile doesn't include
  15.             vers.c/vers.o
  16.  
  17.     Solution:    Chris Demetriou has a patch on agate (in
  18.             unofficial/Makefile.cgd I think) that
  19.             fixes the problem.

  21. I suggest looking through the 386BSD FAQ and Bug List - there is
  22. a lot of stuff there that has helped me. ( I got my copy from
  23. the 386BSD bot on IRC - but I guess they are also elsewhere).
