- Actually a silo is a tall hollow tower used to store grain. In a silo overflow
- the machinery that fills the silo with grain has failed to notice that the
- tower is full allowing grain to overflow. This is only dangerous when the
- access doors are closed and locked which causes a backup into the filling
- machine.
-
- A silo is also a store which sells home electronics at a discount. The problem
- with a silo overflow in this case is when there are too many silos in
- operation in a single area causing a lose of discount offerings because the
- competition has been eliminated by the excess silos.
