- I have discovered that my Wangtek 5150 EQ streamer tape drive is
- discarding the first 2048 bytes of data whenever it stops then restarts.
- It seems to write the tape just fine (checked on another system). The
- problem occurs regardless of what program I read the tape with (I've
- tried dd, tar, afio) and is dependent upon the buffer size (bigger
- buffers result in less stops/starts). A test with dd and known data
- content showed the missing data to be *exactly* the first 2048 bytes of
- data for the next buffer (following the stop).
-
- Has anyone else experienced this? I believe that my drive and
- controller are ok since they were in use on another system and working
- fine before being moved to the 386bsd system.
-
- Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
