  21. I realized that some people may want a minimal X window. While I try
  22. to come up with a minimal configuration for general distribution, someone
  23. other than me can come up with a first crack at it.
  24. Personally, I don't think this is an unreasonable request given the
  25. fact that X is publicly availabe, the diffs for X386 1.2e 1.0.1 and
  26. that people have actually built X servers on their machine.

  28. As for X dragging your machine down, first thing that comes up to
  29. my is what is your hardware configuration? And, how much memory 
  30. to you have? Also, do you have the patch to the com driver to
  31. solve the select problem.

  33. You mentioned that you would like something niftier. What is it about
  34. X that you think it lacks. Bear in mind that motif and openlook have
  35. been ported to X386 .

  37. If you or anyone can come up with a better windowing system than X 
  38. which enjoys such wide support not only on 386bsd but across many
  39. operating systems and that is FREE, Please let me know.
