- Diamond isn't releasing technical info becasue they feel they do not
- wish to reveal their proprietary architecture. While Orchid's S3 card is
- just an OEM of an S3 product, Diamond developed their's independently. I
- believe that Diamond may be willing to disclose their technical
- reference if a non-disclosure is signed. The X386E project is not going
- to sign a non-disclosure.
-
- If you have bought a Diamond product and are mad about this situation,
- you may try calling Diamond and politely notifying them of your
- displeasure. Unlike the DOS world, the Un*x community lives and breathes
- on openness so when something like this comes along it usually bothers
- people.
-
- X386E is currently trying to convince Diamond to change their policy. We
- hope to do that by showing them that it is in their best interests.
