- Knowing someone from Conner, Maxtor and Seagate, and getting some honest
- feedback once in a while, I would say go for Maxtor. They've the most
- experience in making 5 1/4" large capacity SCSI (>300Meg.).
- One of my housemate use to run torture test in his QA lab (i.e.
- random read/write + low level format on a 7/24 basis). Never had a prob. with
- Maxtor. He kill several Seagate within a week. Not all Maxtor models are good.
- I would say stick with the field proven one, not the brand new model.
- Generally, go for 5 1/4" disk from Maxtor, and you should be OK.
- Fujitsu, might have some air-flow + heat control prob. especially on their
- 3.5" disk.
- Seagate basically is a trash, not worth to mention.
- Micropolis is a decent drive too, dunno much about it.
-
- I've no affiliation with any of the drive manufacturer, except a satified
- customer of Maxtor.
