  14. I've been baking my brain struggling with this machine:

  17. AMI BIOS (the latest)
  18. (ASIC Design?) Chipset
  19. Ultrastor 22CA Caching ESDI EISA Controller.

  21. The systems boots and installs on the hard
  22. drive just fine, but refuses to boot off of the hard
  23. drive.  It doesn't 'cycle-boot', but just
  24. sits there and spins the A: driver for eternity.

  26. I have verified that the disklabel is correct (I've
  27. even made my own disklabel and installed per the
  28. instructions of article <16tkqqINN3e6@frigate.doc.ic.ac.uk>
  29. (Diomidis Spinellis), a 386bsd0.0 style install),

  31. Sector mapping on the controller is turned off.
  32. I've flipped the "Disk Type 47 storage area" switch
  33. to read "DOS 1KB".  I've tweaked every possible
  34. parameter in the CMOS setup back and forth.

  36. Nothing seems to get it to boot off the hard drive.

  38. Is anyone else using this controller?
