  17. A year and a half ago when I was purchasing a SCSI drive and controler, I
  18. called Allways and asked for technical information on their controler (a
  19. register-level description would probably be sufficient to write drivers
  20. for the controler) and was very curteously told "no way".

  22. The controler has a WD SCSI chip, but a LOT of other logic (two PGAs)
  23. around it.  I expect it's a pretty simple controler, but their
  24. unwillingness to give out details ment that it wouldn't be useful to me (I
  25. was running only Minix in those days).  Reverse-engineering their ROMs is
  26. always an option.
