- I'm having a couple of problems with A/UX 2.01 networking. I wonder
- if anyone has seen anything like this or has any suggestions.
-
- OK, first:
-
- I'm having a problem with portmap. I have configured 4 each nfsd
- and biod. NFS is working ok. I can act as both a server and a client and all
- the file transfers seem ok. But, periodically, the whole networking
- layer seems to get hung up. When I use "netstat -a" I sometimes get
- just "???" in the spot where the tcp sockets should be listed, other times
- I get dozens and dozens of tcp sockets connected to the portmap port. When
- this happens the entire network layer bogs down seriously to the point where
- tcp connections fail.
-
- I can't figure out where all the connections to portmap are coming from. They
- all originate from the local workstation, but I have been unable to identify
- the process that is doing the connecting.
-
-
- Second:
-
- In an attempt to improve overall network performance I increased the
- kernel parameter NMBUFS to 2000. This had the desired effect, less
- network timeouts, generally improved performance, but now I occasionally
- get a kernel panic:
-
- panic: clget null client
-
- I haven't been able to find any reference to this panic in the doc's.
-
-
- Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
