  13. I have recently installed A/UX 3.0 on an fx in a network
  14. involving Un*x based and NetWare based servers.  We have 
  15. the NetWare servers routing the AFP protocols from LocalTalk 
  16. to 10-Base-T (Ethernet).

  18. The A/UX machine is acting as a AppleShare server using 
  19. the file Sharing Extension in System 7.0.1.  The problem
  20. I'm experiencing is that the A/UX machine is EXTREMELY slow
  21. when it comes to file sharing.  It takes about 10 minutes to
  22. copy a 10K file from a Mac on LocalTalk to the fx on Ethernet.
  23. The NetWare servers on Ethernet are much faster.

  25. When it comes to NFS, FTP, and Telnet, the fx is *very* fast,
  26. so I have a feeling that the File Sharing capabilities under
  27. A/UX 3.0 running the Finder environment are somewhat broken.

  29. Am I the only one experiencing this kind of performance problem?
  30. If there is a patch to this, or some workaround, I would be 
  31. very interested in hearing about them.  Any other comments 
  32. would also be welcome, especially if they involve A/UX 3.0 on a
  33. Mac IIfx.
