- Hello all,
-
- I have recently installed A/UX 3.0 on an fx in a network
- involving Un*x based and NetWare based servers. We have
- the NetWare servers routing the AFP protocols from LocalTalk
- to 10-Base-T (Ethernet).
-
- The A/UX machine is acting as a AppleShare server using
- the file Sharing Extension in System 7.0.1. The problem
- I'm experiencing is that the A/UX machine is EXTREMELY slow
- when it comes to file sharing. It takes about 10 minutes to
- copy a 10K file from a Mac on LocalTalk to the fx on Ethernet.
- The NetWare servers on Ethernet are much faster.
-
- When it comes to NFS, FTP, and Telnet, the fx is *very* fast,
- so I have a feeling that the File Sharing capabilities under
- A/UX 3.0 running the Finder environment are somewhat broken.
-
- Am I the only one experiencing this kind of performance problem?
- If there is a patch to this, or some workaround, I would be
- very interested in hearing about them. Any other comments
- would also be welcome, especially if they involve A/UX 3.0 on a
- Mac IIfx.
-
- You may reply to me or this group.
-
- Thanks,
-
