  13. I just spent a frustrating evening trying to get slip working on my Q700.
  14. I rebuilt the kernel with 'newconfig cslip' and it seemed to work fine.
  15. Once the machine was rebooted, I dialed to my server (using cu and setting
  16. s52=0 on my Telebit 2500 so it wouldn't hang up the line when I quit cu).
  17. I then configured the interface with slattach and ifconfig.  I then set
  18. up the route table with route add default.  Doing a netstat -rn seemed to
  19. show things the way I expected.  Attempting to ping my workstation at work
  20. causes the SD light on the modem to flash on and off, but nothing seems to
  21. come back and after a few minutes, a message appears on the System Console
  22. saying that there was a timeout and the route was deleted.  What gives?
