- I just spent a frustrating evening trying to get slip working on my Q700.
- I rebuilt the kernel with 'newconfig cslip' and it seemed to work fine.
- Once the machine was rebooted, I dialed to my server (using cu and setting
- s52=0 on my Telebit 2500 so it wouldn't hang up the line when I quit cu).
- I then configured the interface with slattach and ifconfig. I then set
- up the route table with route add default. Doing a netstat -rn seemed to
- show things the way I expected. Attempting to ping my workstation at work
- causes the SD light on the modem to flash on and off, but nothing seems to
- come back and after a few minutes, a message appears on the System Console
- saying that there was a timeout and the route was deleted. What gives?
