- We are in the midst of trying to make NetWare for the RS/6000 available
- for our engineering users (version 1.1.0: beware any version number
- ending in "0"! This is actually IBM's port of NetWare v3.11).
-
- It has the look and feel of an alpha-test quality program, and hasn't
- run for more than a few hours in a row without crashing in the last
- two weeks.
-
- We're looking for other sites which are running this software, in the
- hopes of learning a few tricks to get it to behave properly. IBM
- Defect Support hasn't been helpful yet, largely because our crashes
- are happening without any indication of a particular cause. We're the
- first site our SE has installed thus far, so he has to rely on Defect
- Support just like us. (I'm not posting to bash IBM, in this case; the
- product is still brand-new and looks quite promising.)
-
- Please send email if you've bought this product and either have discovered
- a way of using it successfully or have had the kinds of problems we're
- having. Our goal is to make several large UNIX filesystems available
- to Novell users, with 99.9% uptime.
