- I simply set the serial port at 38400 using SMIT and disabled XON/XOFF
- flow control in favour of RTS/CTS. The latter cannot be set from within
- SMIT (why not?) and must be set with the command
-
- stty add rts < /dev/tty?
-
- This command does not survive a reboot, apparently IBM have supplied
- a workaround to this but calling support in the UK failed to find
- what thi is.
-
- Also ensure RTS/CTS is used in the modem and that your modem cable
- supports it. All this gives me a link rate of 14400, but doesn't help
- with throughput. From various discussions in UUCP newsgroups it would
- appear that my problem may be the limited window/segment size
- in AIX uucico. To this end has anyone patched the binary with more
- sensible defaults ie window size of 7 and segment size of 256, or
- better still, managed to port Taylor-uucp to this platform?
