  13.   I have installed the Gnu readline library - or at least I think I 
  14. did it correctly. However, when my program tries to link it in the
  15. linker fails complaining of an unresolved reference to "alloca".
  16. Seems like someone brought up this function before. Does anyone
  17. have any idea why it is missing?
