-
- When restoring the system disk from an image backup, what exactly is the
- difference between selecting option 1 Install AIX ...-------
- 2 Re-install AIX ...
- The help info says that with 1, ALL directories are erased
- WIth 2, /,/usr, /tmp and dump minidisks are erased.
- 2 seems like a safer option, but is 1 actually dangerous, assuming the
- backup is good?
-
- I assume that by 1, it means the knowledge of your other logical volumes
- and filesystems is destroyed. However, the restore should put all that
- back shouldn't it? (/etc/filesystems plus whatever).
-
- Any help/advice gratefully received.
