- When creating a 2 gig journaled filesystem that will be holding a
- small number of very large files, I noticed that AIX 3.2.0
- pre-allocated way more i-nodes than I want using SMIT, so I looked
- up the mkfs and found that the -i parm is ignored for a jfs... Now,
- I know nothing about the where's and why's of the journaled
- filesystem, so this may be a stupid question to those who do --- but
- could someone enlighten me? Can you set the number of i-nodes in a
- jfs (and how)? If not, I'm curious to hear why (since it would shed
- some light on the internals). Is there a document that describes
- the internals of the jfs? Much appreciation in advance,
-
