  15. I am writing a Life program and would like to know how fast it is compared to
  16. XLife in order to compare and analyze the algorithms. However, I can't run
  17. XLife, so I am requesting that those of you who can, do this for me:
  18. XLife (or at least release 3.0) has a benchmark feature, where you put in a 
  19. pattern and it asks you how many generations to play and when done tells you
  20. how long it took.
  21. Could you please have it play the pattern 'acorn' (it looks like this)

  24. xx..xxx (I believe)
  25. for 10,000 generations, and mail me the results.
  26. I need to know the exact time reported and on exactly what machine you ran it.
  27. I need as many as possible.
