- You don't need to do this! Try this:
- \font\bgreek=cmmib10 % bold symbols at 10 pt (see p430 of TeXbook for font)
- \def\balpha{\hbox{\bgreek\char`013}} % gives a bold alpha, etc.
- Now you can say $$x = \balpha$$.
