  12. I have created a set of Latex programs, collectively called geom,
  13. that work with Lamport's book and article styles and provide
  14. a number of additional features:
  15.  
  16. - Inclusion of PostScript figures in the document,
  17.   and of TeX text within figures.
  18. - Automatic creation of index entries and cross-reference labels.
  19. - No restriction on the use of macros and special characters in
  20.   titles, cross-references, captions, etc. (i.e. no need to worry
  21.   about fragile commands in almost all situations).
  22. - Greater versatility in defining theorem-like environments.
  23. - Proofing aids such as version numbers and a running index.
  24. - TeX labels in Mathematica figures.

  26. There are also purely esthetic differences,
  27. many of which can be controlled by the user.
