- We briefly discussed the possiblity of you posting a request
- for the keycaps I need to restore my 3B1-keyboard.
- If that is still possible then I may have a chance of making
- this keyboard whole again.
-
- Their are two styles of keyboards mostly seperated by age.
- I need the two keycaps from the newer style keyboard.
- These are the down arrow (Roll) and the right arrow keycaps.
- These are the bottom, rightmost keys on the keyboard.
-
- The new keycaps which are the ones which I want have a very small,
- approximately 1/8 inch by 1/16 inch rectangular-section stud on their
- underside which is made entirely of white plastic. The stud fits into
- a rectangular-section socket on the keyboard. This socket is made of
- brown plastic, and takes the form of a 3/8 by 1/4 inch protrusion or
- stud which has the necessary rectangular socket hole in its top.
-
- To differentiate a description of the old style keycaps follow.
- The old style keycaps have a white plastic socket in the bottom
- of them which is square in section and about 3/16 inches in inside
- side length or 1/4 inches in outside side length. This socket fits
- over a white plastic stem on the keyboard which is square in section,
- about 3/16 inches in outside side length, and has a small round hole
- in the center. The old keycaps also have a soft clear plastic boot
- on their undersides which is about 1/2 inches in inside diameter, and
- is circular in section.
-
- Your help much appreciated,
