- G'Day David
- I've been supporting Tandy computers in Western Australia, for many years.
- This question you ask, is one I have been asked many times. The problem is
- that the Tandy 1000TX is only an *XT* and as such has no facility to address
- memory above 1MB through the bus.
-
- This is not an impossible problem, as there are XT Expanded Memory Boards
- available from numerous suppliers. Unfortunately not all of them work very
- well.
-
- Before looking at spending the extra money for a memory board, it might be
- worth considering buying a new computer. An AT will be much faster and a
- more modern machine will take SIMM's directly in the mother board.
-
- If you insist on continuing with the TX, you would be best sticking with
- a memory board supplied by Tandy's. At least then, you can be assured of
- the quality of the board and that the board will work properly.
-
- Regards Ian.
