- Yeah, try xloadimage which you can get via anon ftp in export.lcs.mit.edu.
- xsetroot might do the trick as well, but it is not as flexible as xloadimage.

- If the application has X resources for this then you can set the new settings in
- your .Xdefaults file. Look in the manual for each of the applications if this is
- possible. Otherwise you can of course force the foreground and background color
- in the command line with -fg green -bg -blue for instance. Look in the xview
- manual (type man xview) for the complete story about this. Also check the
- $OPENWIN/lib/rgb.txt file for a complete list of available colors to try.
