- I am experiencing intermittent plotting problems with a Versatec 7236
- electrostatic plotter connected to a Sun IPC with a Versatec SBUS 116
- Parallel adapter. We are using a chip design package called Compass
- Tools. Compass tools has its own spooler.
-
- After plotting anywhere from 1 to 4 plots, the plotter stops then
- starts printing all black on the paper. If plotting is attempted
- again without removing the file from the spool directory for
- Compass and restarting the IPC, the plot fails again.
-
- The disk space in root (/) was small so I symbolically linked
- /tmp to /usr/tmp. No change. None of the partitions appeared to
- fill while the plot was processing. The problem does not seem
- dependent on the size of the plot.
-
- If we install the SBUS 116 parallel adapter card into a Sun Sparcstation 2
- loaded with the same software, everything works perfectly.
-
- I realize that my software setup may not be familiar to many reading
- this, but I would appreciate any suggestions on other areas to check
- that might fix the problem.
-
- Please reply to me directly; I rarely read these groups.
-
- Thanks in advance,
