  11. I have similar problems between the office where my workbench is
  12. located and the rest of our campus.  The workshop is too far away
  13. from civilized life for a co-ax run.  I am running a SL/IP line from
  14. a Xyplex server to my office.  The Xyplex forgets the routing
  15. information for my SL/IP session if nothing happens for about 15
  16. minutes or so.  The workshop PC runs Chameleon, so my temporary fix
  17. has been to background a once-a-minute ping to assorted interesting
  18. sites so that the Xyplex doesn't go brain-dead.  I haven't seen any
  19. problems with things connected directly to the thick backbone
  20. going mute while talking to suns (at least not yet).  We're running
  21. SunOS 4.1.2.
