  13. I have become the proud owner of a Sun 3/60 and am now trying
  14. to set it up. I have a 140 MB SCSI disk drive and an Emulex
  15. MT01 SCSI to QIC convertor going to a 60MB cartridge tape
  16. drive hooked up to it. The disk is at SCSI address 3 and the
  17. tape at SCSI address 4. I also got a set of SUNOS 4.1.1
  18. cartridge tapes (2) with it.

  20. I can fire the whole thing up and type
  21.   b st(0,20,0)install sd(0,18,0)vmunix
  22. like the boot command says to. What I get back is a lot of
  23. tape motion, the line
  24.   copying st(0,20,3) to sd(0,18,0)
  25. and then a message about not being able to access the disk
  26. partiton. If I try typing
  27.   b sd(0,18,0)vmunix
  28. I get a message saying 
  29.   no disk label, trying anyway
  30. and then the boot fails.

  32. From this I surmise that the tape and the disk are accessible
  33. and that I must write a disk label and partition information
  34. to the disk. This is where I am stumped.

  36. So could one of you fine folks out there email me either
  37. a) the steps I need to take to get SUNOS onto my disk and running
  38. or
  39. b) the name of a manual, book, etc that will tell me how to do this.
  40. I would prefer email replies since it seems that only about 1/2
  41. of the traffic from these groups gets here (they must also have
  42. a small expiry time on articles - they don't last over the weekend).
  43. If there is interest, I will summarize results. Thanks muchly.
