- I intend to purchase either an IPC or an IPX in the next few months,
- maybe together with a desktop module, SPARCprinter, etc.
-
- My question regards the power requirements of such a machine.
- Although I live in the U.S right now, I will (hopefully) graduate at
- some point and will relocate back to Europe (my signature will betray
- me :-).
-
- [As we all know] In the US the voltage is 110V at 60Hz; back home,
- however, we use 220V at 50Hz. What I would like to know is whether
- this will be a problem with the equipment. Will I have to (from worst
- to most desirable):
- - buy a huge/large power converter
- - replace all the power supplies (box, monitor, desktop modules,
- printer, etc, ouch!!)
- - just replace a fuse
- - just flip a switch
- - just get the right power cord
-
- Also, are any parts of the equipment special in this respect (say the
- monitor) ?
-
- Anyone who knows about this (or has gone through the same procedure)
- and can give some info, I will appreciate.
-
- Please reply by e-mail as I do not read this newsgroup often.
-
- Thank you all for your time and attention.
