- I recently purchased a Sparcstation IPC, and I installed an aftermarket
- Sony CD-ROM. Sony *IS* shipping CD-ROM's with the correct SUN firmware
- now, and I had no trouble booting! (for the record, I bought it as an
- internal drive for $490 from a local company here in Minneapolis called
- Datalink, 612-944-3462, Joe Kaye - I'm not affiliated with them)
-
- I believe I had to type:
-
- > b sd(0,6,0)
-
- to get it to boot on the IPC, but your clone may understand 'b cdrom'
- directly. The guy I bought the IPC from used to have a Toshiba SCSI
- CD-rom drive on the system, and he could do everything but boot from
- it. I don't know if the system supported the Toshiba drive, or if he
- had special drivers for it.
-
- Hope this helps!
