- I am unable to use tip, with the above modem, on a Sparc ELC. Some details
- follow. Any 'tips' appreciated!

- setup: sun os 4.1.2, sparc elc
- v.32/v.4 bis modem, through serial port 1
- communicating with /dev/cua1, per sun documentation

- symptoms: tip dials correctly
- as soon as tip connects to remote host, it hangs up, or
- cites 'unkown machine type' as an error.

- note: kermit works fine with the above set-up.
