- This problem crosses a lot of boundaries, and I'm not sure what the
- best group(s) to pose it to is/are, but comp.os.msdos.desqview and
- comp.sys.sun.apps seem like good starting points.
-
- I've got a 386 notebook ordered, and I'm about to order Desqview/X.
- My primary purpose in all of this is to be able to dialin from home
- or on the road and run SunNet Manager (on my Sparcstation 2) from
- the notebook. The SNM documentation says that in order to do this,
- you must run an "OpenLook-compliant" window manager. Since they
- never go to any great lengths to define precisely what they mean by
- OpenLook-compliant, I'm uncertain as to whether or not I need the
- DV/X OpenLook Window Manager or not. Is the standard window manager
- for DV/X "compliant" enough, do I need the OpenLook Window Manager,
- or can I just fire up OpenLook itself remotely, then run SNM from there?
- My limited experience with X windows is showing, and I'd appreciate
- any insight anyone can provide. Thanks.
