- The X11/NeWS server seems to have a problem with the XORing of
- dashed (both OnOffDash and DoubleDash) lines requested by an
- X client on color (8bit) screens. When XOR is used to give
- feedback while moving or resizing a dashed line, the second
- drawing of the line doesn't erase the first, and the lines
- remain in the window as garbage.
-
- The problem was discovered when using the Garnet interface toolkit
- from CMU under Allegro Common Lisp, and the was traced down to
- CLX and then to the server. XORing works correctly for other objects
- like rectangles, for solid lines, on black-and-white (1bit) screens
- and with the MIT X11R5 server.
-
- My questions: Is this a known problem? Is there a fix or a workaround?
- What will be done about this?
-
- Many thanks in advance for any useful hints.
