- Hello,
-
- I have to develop an application in dBase IV. This application should
- be used on both a Sparc and a number of MS-DOS PC's. For a number of
- reasons I would like to develop this application on the Sparc. Now I can
- choose one of (at least) two ways:
-
- * I have heard about dBase IV for SunOS (release?). Are applications
- generated with this dBase version usable on a PC running dBase IV?
- If I mount the appropriate directories on the PC using PC-NFS, can
- I access the application directly? Any compatibility problems?
-
- * Another approach is buying SoftPC or an equivalent program and
- running the MS-DOS version of dBase IV. Is this preferable above
- the former strategy? Is SoftPC a good choice? Which are the
- alternatives?
-
- Of course I will summarize.
-
- Thanks in advance for your efforts,
-
- -Johan.
