  11. We have a company wishing to provide us with a tape media cleaning service.
  12. They sent us the following blurb.
  13.  
  14. "Tape manufacturers recommend tapes be cleaned regularly as part of a 
  15. preventative maintenance programme. Regular cleaning not only removes 
  16. erros-causing oxide build-up and debris while restoring correct tape
  17. tension, it also means that degraded tapes can be postively identified
  18. and removed before they spread contamination throughout the system.

  20.     * CLEAN AND RETENSION FREQUENTLY-USED TAPES EVERY SIX MONTHS
  21.     * CLEAN AND RETENSION ALL TAPES ONCE A YEAR"

  23. My personal opinion is that it is a service that I could do without.
