- Hi,
-
- This may sound like a silly question, but is tar portable from SunOS to AIX?
- i.e. if I tar something onto tape on a Sparc, can I retrieve it on an RS/6000?
- Actually, I tried that and gave the tape to someone using an RS/6000. He says
- that the tarfile looks fine, but when he untars it he only manages to retrieve
- 50MB out of the 62MB. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
-
- p.s: please send replies to sharon@rose.lbl.gov and don't hit reply (the mail-
- server is down for this account)
-
- Thanks in advance,
- Sharon :)
