  11. I am experiencing a slowdown in our Iris (310GTX) whenever
  12. we have more than a certain number of files in a directory.
  13. As soon as I am in a directory that has about 2000 files and 
  14. I do a mv, cp, ls etc. it takes ages to perform. Everything 
  15. I do then is slowed down including any other user's processes.
  16. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix this problem?
