- The reason that inittab is updated(and the old copy moved to inittab.O) is
- that if you are upgrading from a 3.3 or earlier system to a 4.0.x system
- you need a new inittab. If the old 3.3 inittab is left in place your system
- will not come up correctly. Unfortunately there is no way to indicate
- to the installation software that a file should be updated or not based on
- the software release number of the old release.
