  10. We're having an interesting and annoying problem with our iris 4d/35, 
  11. irix 4.04.  Twice in the past week system.glgammaval in the /etc/config
  12. directory has become corrupted with the result that no one can log
  13. into the console (user logs in, but gets bumped out before any windows
  14. come up, no info in the /usr/adm/SYSLOG file), and that pandora doesn't
  15. come up, but instead we get the login screen that one gets when one
  16. sets noiconlogin to TRUE.  Both times this has happened, a user has
  17. been doing some development work involving BIOSYM's open interface
  18. and INSIGHTII software packages; this of course is quite a large
  19. image for our 16 Meg 4d/35G system, but the application running
  20. may simply be coincidental and have nothing to do with the problem.

  22. So, the question is--have any other users experienced similar 
  23. problems on their SGI systems, what caused the problem and is
  24. there a workaround; I thought I'd check the collective net.wisdom
  25. before we logged a call to the TAC.
