  21. Yes, that's what we want to do.  However, all the PC's here (well
  22. almost all of them) use the Beame&Whiteside drivers, telnet, ftp, etc.
  23. Unfortunately, all the pop clients I've seen (for the PC) will not
  24. work unless you have a specific packet driver installed on the PC (I
  25. recall reference to the Clarkson packet driver, but I could be wrong).
  26. The B&W packet driver is not compatible with POP.

  28. What upsets the management around here is that we were told that the
  29. 4D/340 would handle 300 concurrent users.  That does not appear to be
  30. the case.  I have one reply on this question from slf@cs.mu.OZ.AU
  31. (Stewart Forster - Computer Science, University Of Melbourne,
  32. Australia) who says they have trouble with getting to 190 users.
  33. However, we will not have people doing compiles, running
  34. calculations/simulations, etc., just e-mail.  In any case, it looks
  35. like some sales person is going to get yelled at in the not too
  36. distant future:-(
