- Yes, that's what we want to do. However, all the PC's here (well
- almost all of them) use the Beame&Whiteside drivers, telnet, ftp, etc.
- Unfortunately, all the pop clients I've seen (for the PC) will not
- work unless you have a specific packet driver installed on the PC (I
- recall reference to the Clarkson packet driver, but I could be wrong).
- The B&W packet driver is not compatible with POP.

- What upsets the management around here is that we were told that the
- 4D/340 would handle 300 concurrent users. That does not appear to be
- the case. I have one reply on this question from slf@cs.mu.OZ.AU
- (Stewart Forster - Computer Science, University Of Melbourne,
- Australia) who says they have trouble with getting to 190 users.
- However, we will not have people doing compiles, running
- calculations/simulations, etc., just e-mail. In any case, it looks
- like some sales person is going to get yelled at in the not too
- distant future:-(
