  11. My 3-year-old Personal Iris is equipped with a Hitachi 20" monitor.
  12. The monitor is now making noise, which goes away when the G (sync)
  13. input is disconnected.  The sync clearly is off, as the picture 
  14. jiggles.  This machine is not on service contract.  I would like
  15. some advice & information:

  17. 1) What is best - replace or repair?

  19. 2) If repair, who is best to repair it?  SGI probably contracts it out
  20. & it seems that any local Hitachi repair place should be able to handle 
  21. it.

  23. 3) If replace, I need to know the specs.  Mainly, it seems as if the
  24. refresh rate is critical, as I have a NEC multisync with RGB inputs
  25. that can't sync to the PI output.  Knowing the specs would also help
  26. me price a new one.  I also could opt for a smaller monitor, since 
  27. it would save some $ and also space in my lab.  Anyone who can provide
  28. this information will be in my debt.
