- My 3-year-old Personal Iris is equipped with a Hitachi 20" monitor.
- The monitor is now making noise, which goes away when the G (sync)
- input is disconnected. The sync clearly is off, as the picture
- jiggles. This machine is not on service contract. I would like
- some advice & information:
-
- 1) What is best - replace or repair?
-
- 2) If repair, who is best to repair it? SGI probably contracts it out
- & it seems that any local Hitachi repair place should be able to handle
- it.
-
- 3) If replace, I need to know the specs. Mainly, it seems as if the
- refresh rate is critical, as I have a NEC multisync with RGB inputs
- that can't sync to the PI output. Knowing the specs would also help
- me price a new one. I also could opt for a smaller monitor, since
- it would save some $ and also space in my lab. Anyone who can provide
- this information will be in my debt.
-
- 4) Anyone else have this experience?
-
- Thanks for your help.
