  25. Once Keith calms down enough so the foam from his mouth stops getting
  26. all over his keyboard, perhaps he'll come back and give you a real
  27. answer.  In the mean time, here's the gist of what he'll say:

  29. The Sparc tells NetWare NFS that it's ready to receive a certain
  30. amount of data.  NFS has no mechanism for moderating data rate: the
  31. server is free to return the requested data as fast as possible.
  32. Unfortunately, NetWare NFS's "as fast as possible" is too fast for the
  33. Sparc to handle.  This isn't entirely uncommon in the NFS world.  In
  34. fact, NetWare NFS itself can have a similar problem if it's crippled
  35. with a sufficiently slow network interface card.

  37. I'm not really an expert on NFS, so i hope i've managed to clear this
  38. up a little without mangling the facts too badly.  And i actually
  39. don't know the first thing about a "Sparc IPC", whatever that is, i'm
  40. just extrapolating from Keith's comment about it, based on my limited
  41. knowledge of NFS.
