  12. Anyone else had problems with Arcserve not connecting to non-host servers
  13. to do backups? I've just installed it, and am finding that it only works
  14. for a server other than the host if you are attached to that server. And
  15. it won't work at all in unattended mode.

  17. In unattended mode the error message is "Failed to login to nw-ccen-1
  18. as supervisor - No such file or directory,5  Check fileserver, login
  19. id and password".
  20. - we are all on the same network (same network number)
  21. - it is not an error in typing names or passwords!

  23. In attended mode, if you are not attached to the target server you
  24. cannot even edit the form to submit the job, as it says that the
  25. servername/path  is invalid. Pressing <insert> shows only the local
  26. host and it's floppy drives. If you do attach to the target server
  27. before running arcserve admin then you can backup the server in this
  28. way, volume by volume.

  30. We have an EISA 486, 16Mg RAM, Netware 3.11, Adaptec 1740 in standard
  31. mode, HP35470A 2Gb Dat drive, Arcserve 4.0. We use ethernet 802.3
  32. and I have tried lots of shells on the workstation submitting the
  33. jobs (pdipx, ipxodi and straight ipx) in case that was relevant, to
  34. no avail.
