- I am setting up a network with two token-ring segments about
- 5 miles apart. Both segments have about 20 users but there
- will only be a file server on one of them. The folks on the
- other segment will have to cross a bridge or router to get
- to the server and an AS/400.
-
- Question: How much bandwidth will I need? It would be nice
- if I could make the connection with one 56 or 64Kb channel
- on an existing T1 line. Two channels would be another easy
- possibility.
-
- Question: How about performance on this kind of bandwidth?
-
- Question: Since there is only one remote segment, is there
- any advantage in using a router instead of a bridge? (We
- are currently using IBm Source-Routing Bridges throughout
- our existing corporate LANs.)

- Thanks. E-mail replies are appreciated.
