- I'm in the process of developing a standardized workstation
- configuration for my facility. Specifically memory, but as long
- as I'm here, I'd like to visit all options.
-
- Netware 3.11.
- The majority of workstations have the following specs:
- 386 4M ISA, DOS 5, Netroom, could purchase memory manager
- if need more than DOS 5 and Netroom, 3com nics, ipx, netx,
- mouse, min buffers=50, min files=128, min environment
- space=600. The only "tsr" will be LANSelect (4k, but swaps
- apps to expanded). NO Windows.
- Apps: WordPerfect, Lotus 2.4, Fox/Clipper Su'87/Clipper 5.0
- databases. There is more, and each will use expanded, but
- not extended.
-
- I've got plenty to read and play with, but your experiences in
- reality will be invaluable. From specific syntax to where I
- should start and what to avoid would all be appreciated. I'm
- starting with DOS5 since it's new to me - oh boy!
-
- I don't want to start a noisy religious war: ipx vs odi etc, so
- send mail and I'll summarize and post.
-
- Thanks,
