- This is a fairly commonly asked question - is it in the FAQs?
- In any case I believe the answer is no, you can't share a NeXT printer
- unless you "turn on" NetInfo. I don't know why it can't behave like a
- normal BSD/lpd/printcap printer when NetInfo is not being used.
-
- A lot of people are scared about turning on NetInfo - I know I was at
- first. NetInfo will happily run without interfering with you or even NIS.
- Go ahead and use it!

- All NeXT applications can print to a PostScript file - that is currently
- the only printer type that is supported by the NeXT. Otherwise you'd have
- to save it to a different format and print it via some other utility (say,
- lpr).
-
- I don't know what happens in 3.0 with the support for non-PostScript
- printers like the Epsons, etc. Can you print to a file with those? Any
- 3.0 users?
