- Hi netters!
-
- Has anyone out there installed a Maxtor P0-12S (rev LB22) drive on a NeXT?
- (the machine is a 040 cube used as a server and running 2.1J). The drive was
- properly recognized, initialized, mounted and exported by the system...
- BUT... After copying the directories to the new destination using gnutar I
- used "diff -r" and discovered some files that did not match the original.
- Only very long files like a 12Mbyte .tar.Z file and soundfiles. The drive is
- properly terminated (by the way, removing the termination did not make any
- difference!) and I did tests with only that drive in the SCSI chain and also
- adding a CD-ROM drive in the middle. I also sdform'ed the drive with no
- apparent improvement.
-
- Any help appreciated!
- Thanks in advance.
