- shutdown -p will only show up in the Console or Terminal (if it's
- running). Since there is no guarantee users will be running Terminal
- or Console a "Broadcast.app" (or something similar) would be nice.
- "ShellPanel" can pop open a window with an Alert message in it but if
- you want to run it as root (so everyone will see it) I believe the
- Public Window Server will have to be open on each station. This is a
- no-no for security reasons. Anyone have a workaround? Can root open
- the Public Window Server on a station just long enough to broadcast a
- message then close it (or leave it in the state it was in)?
