  14. Thanks to all who responded concerning my PostScript printing
  15. problem, but fsck reported nothing.

  17. To recap: After having my v2.1 cube off for a week, I find that 
  18. sending anything to the printer results in the following PostScript 
  19. errors reported from npd:

  21. %%[ Error: invalidfileaccess; Offending Command: run ]%%
  22. %%[ Error: typecheck; Offending Command: machportdevice ]%%

  24. BEFORE the errors appear, the system appears to be normal.
  25. AFTER the errors appear, however, the system is really munged!

  27. - If I click on "CONSOLE" under workspace tools, I
  28.   get the "spinning disk" busy-indicator forever.
  29. - If I double-click on /usr/lib/NextPrinter/comm, I get:
  30.   "Workspace Error 1000: Continue or Logout?"
  31.   (It logs me out any way I answer).
  32. - In a terminal window, if I issue a command that 
  33.   displays lines of text (like "ls" or "ps"), I get
  34.   only a few characters displayed of each line.

  36. One final bit of info: I can boot from my 2.0 Release Optical
  37. and printing is just fine. I've tried replacing things on disk
  38. to no avail. What components are involved in printing?
