  18. I am planning a book on Mach dealing with current research projects
  19. in various fields concerning the Mach operating system. For this
  20. effort, I am still looking for competent authors to contribute mate-
  21. rial.
  22.  
  23. Fields of interest include but certainly are not limited to:
  24.  
  25.     o Mach Basics
  26.     o Mach 2.5 and 3.0 including OSF/1 and other operating
  27.     o systems based on Mach
  28.     o Emulation of other operating systems with appropriate
  29.     o Mach-Servers
  30.     o Specific Mach implementations
  31.     o Multiprocessor issues
  32.     o Mach in distributed environments
  33.     o Applications based on the Mach OS
  34.  
  35. Further topics are:
  36.     o Real Time extensions to Mach
  37.     o Multimedia environments on top of Mach
  38.     o Object-oriented systems with Mach
  39.  
  40. Submissions:

  42. Authors should send an extended abstract (2000 to 3000 words) of
  43. their papers to the email address above in plain ASCII. This abstract
  44. should include the length in words of the original paper (without fig-
  45. ures) and the email address of the author for a first contact. Since this
  46. book is also planned as a text book on Mach (like Sape Mullender's
  47. book on distributed systems), the material contributed should also
  48. provide a minimum introduction into the field. All contributions will
  49. be acknowledged.
