- Well depending on what you are printing to it can be rather
- easy. Since the NeXT supports Level 2 you will need to convert
- your file (ie printer to a printer driver that is non Level 2)
- or print to a printer driver that is Level 2 if you are going to
- a Level 2 printer on the other system. You could also avoid
- sneaker net by going Ethernet or go serial. But in this
- special sounding case you might want to copy the file to floppy
- (the ps file you printed) and sneaker it over. So, after that
- long explaination of the ideas, here is what I do when I go
- to a Lino 300 across the street from our Network...
-
- o Create a 'new' printer in the PrintManager.app
- o Make it a LaserWriter NTX
- o Call it 'BozoPrinter'
- o From the program (say Frame) Preview this document
- with the 'BozoPrinter' selected as your printer
- o From Preview.app save the document. (will be level 1)
- o Take it to your favorite service bureau or network
- to print. Remember to carry it on a MSDOS or Mac
- formatted disk. I know of no system that recognizes
- NeXT format disks. (don't bother sending me flames
- since I never have need to have another system read NeXT
- formatted disks)... ;')
-
- That is about it. I hope I have answered the question. Have
- fun. It is nice to see 2500 dpi output on occasion...
