-
- Geez ! Let me start off by saying I've used both and prefer TeXWorks (a.k.a.
- InstantTeX) and have purchased it.
-
- However.....
-
- When TeXmenu came out, it was the ONLY GUI interface to TeX available on the
- NeXT that I knew of. The only alternative was some Edit macros (which worked
- pretty well, actually.) TeXmenu was FREE, and someone obviously put a lot of
- work into it. To label it as "crap" is, to me, inaccurate, and certainly
- an undeserved slap in the face to someone who provided something to the
- community. Perhaps you need the experience of spending some late nights
- developing some software that you're going to give to people and then having
- someone belittle your work by rudely proclaiming to the world that it is
- "crap." If you don't like it, just state your reasons, suggest improvements,
- and have a little respect for another person's efforts. People who are trying
- to provide software to the NeXT community should be encouraged, not
- discouraged, and thoughtless reactions are only discouraging. No one was trying
- to SELL you TeXmenu or making inflated claims for it.
-
-
-
- BTW, to get TeXMenu to display in English, I found that resetting my language
- choice in Preferences (the app) had to be done in addition to chosing it in
- TeXMenu.
