- Whoa, stay calm.
-
- There are lots of reasons, most of them historical, for why prices were
- forbidden from being on USENET. Todd has merely inherited a situation that has
- been around for a long time. There are issues besides popularity (legality,
- for one) to be considered. There are some networks (not just sites)
- which might not be able to carry csn.announce if it had price information.
- Todd has to consider of all of that before he makes a decision.
-
- Now, admittedly his last questionnaire was rather confusing to some of us, but
- let's give the guy a chance. Todd has put an awful lot of effort into making
- csn.announce more 'user-friendly', and I'm sure he wants to do the right thing.
- He's probably just worried (rightfully or not, I don't know) about his efforts
- being derailed by 'back-door politicking'. Let's give him a few days to
- compile his questionnaire, create a policy, and defend his decision. Then I'm
- sure he will be more than willing to enter into a rational debate on the issue.
-
- Until then, can we just play it cool? We've lived with this situation for
- several years; a couple more weeks isn't going to kill anyone.
